TALKING STRAIGHT - EXTERNAL TIMBER
Timber first, timber last!
+We put in hours of research to determine the best timber for the job and we source local, ethically-sourced timber wherever possible
+We’ve worked hard to find a Sunshine Coast supplier who can certify the chain of custody for their timber products, whether they mill them themselves or ethically source them for us
+Bushfire-safety: complies with BAL 29
TALKING STRAIGHT- INTERNAL LININGS
HERE WE GO AGAIN - TIMBER
+We use timber products where possible for all internal linings
+Our wall linings are EcoPly ply groove made from plantation pine and FSC certified.
+Low Formaldehyde Emissions (E0)
+We use plasterboard for ceilings and wet areas only. We're not huge fans of it, but in the interests of making our houses more affordable we use it in limited areas unless customers want to upgrade to ply linings throughout.
+Our floors are FSC certified spotted gum -hardwood. From South East Queensland.
+Our paints? LOW VOC of course!
OUR KITCHENS - THE HEART OF THE HOUSE? LET'S TRY LUNGS!
+Surprisingly for an area that we spend much time in; in particular preparing food, the kitchen in modern homes is often the most toxic in air quality not to mention in the manufacturing process.
+Our standard kitchen is made from Australian manufactured Queensland sourced Hoop Pine Ply
+Internals are Super E0 white board for durability
+Benchtops are NEAThouse eco countertops: plywood sheets bonded with a non-toxic glue with a thin strip of laminate on top for durability. They look fantastic and most of our clients choose this option over any other benchtop.
+We use the same materials for the cabinetry in the bathroom/s and laundry
WINDOWS
+We firmly believe that we get the elephant stamp for including beautiful casement windows throughout. These are inspired by our nostalgia for the old Queenslanders with their wide-opening casements that catch the breezes and allow air to circulate throughout.
+Louvre windows are placed strategically for airflow
+Low E glass is standard
+In design terms, casements provide a movement to the design by the various configurations when they are open and shut. Slightly 'wanky' but true!
+Our wonderful window supplier is an Australian owned company, the windows are made on the Gold Coast and the company started in Hervey Bay 40 years ago (chocolate frog if you can guess who!). These windows can be screened too!
+We have a serious crush on these windows.
GREEN WALL
+This stunning feature insulates your NEAThouse from the penetrating western sun
+Your green wall is supported with nautical wire between fixed points on the roof and ground
HEMP CURTAINS ... SAY WHAT?
+Hemp curtains are our standard replacements for robe doors
+They are great for air-flow and add soft texture to the room
+We love that they’re fully recyclable, sustainable and incredibly simple and beautiful
FITTINGS AND FIXTURES
+Tapware is Australian made. Actually Brisbane made!
+6 star WELS rated and good looking too!
+Door handles, stoppers and other hardware are industrial-grade Australian made recyclable brass
+Lighting is LED throughout, with feature pendant lighting by a local designer.

THE DESIGN
We've been working with our wonderful local designer Steve Campbell for over 12 months on our NEAThouse Queensland range. He has helped us to design homes that meet our high standards! He is pretty cool.
